Whit, Michelle, Hannah and Aaron-Sophia Bass.

Whit has served at First Baptist Church of Harrisonburg, First Baptist Church of Calhoun, First Baptist Church of West Monroe, Life Church of Winnsboro and Mangham Baptist Church.   He has served in Ministry since 1993.  He completed a Master's of Divinity Degree at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in May of 2016 and has an endorsement for Chaplaincy through the North American Mission Board.  He has been ordained as a minister of the gospel and he & his family have launched into full time ministry to serve all who struggle with any of life's issues such as bondages, addictions, suicidal propensities, cutting, freedom, etc.

The Lord sends people to us whose lives are broken and in need of rescue.  We have a passion to minister to all in need of rescue.  We feel called to carry out the passage of Isaiah 61 and Luke 4 in our everyday life.  In the passage of Luke 4:18-19 Jesus has recently returned from his 40 days of fasting and has been tempted by the evil one.  After Jesus returns from his 40 day fast he reads from the Isaiah 61 passage what we know as Luke 4:18-19

18.  “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,

          Because He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor.

          He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives,

          And recovery of sight to the blind,

          To set free those who are oppressed,

19.  To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord.”

In short when I read this passage I realize that Jesus saw the importance of Isaiah 61 since he could have read any passage from the Old Testament, but he chose Isaiah 61.  I love that these very people that are healed of their “damage” become the very hope for RESTORATION.  Notice what happens in Isaiah 61 after those that are healed and free accomplish.  REPAIRERS OF RUINED CITIES.

Isaiah 61: 4

4.  Then they will rebuild the ancient ruins,

      They will raise up the former devastations;

      And they will repair the ruined cities,

      The desolations of many generations

OUR MISSION

To make ourselves available to every person that we come in contact with that needs to hear the good news of the gospel, find freedom of captivity, have recovery of Spiritual blindness, liberate those who are oppressed and crushed by life circumstances and to bind up those with a broken heart as referenced in Luke 4 and Isaiah 61.

OUR VISION

To see the mission carried out by partnering with likeminded ministries.  One way RESCUE can become a reality is by individuals meeting with Whit to participate in a PRAYER INTENSIVE. There will also be use of biblical resources to be given to those in need of RESCUE for healing and freedom.  The goal then is for all who have received HEALING and FREEDOM to then help others in need of RESCUE to find HEALING and FREEDOM.  To go therefore and rebuild the ancient ruins as referenced in Isaiah 61.  A picture of TRUE DISCIPLESHIP is to DEMONSTRATE the Kingdom of God each day rather than simply TALK or LEARN about the Kingdom.
